Curriculum Vitae (Brief Profile)

Prof. Ripu Sudan Singh is Professor of Political Science at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University (BBAU), Lucknow, where he has made sustained contributions to teaching, research, and academic administration. He earned his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from the prestigious School of International Studies (SIS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, one of India’s foremost centres for advanced research in international politics and area studies.

Prof. Singh specializes in West Asian Politics, with broader scholarly interests in global political theory, comparative politics, civilizational studies, and critical debates in the Humanities and Social Sciences. He is known for his analytical depth, theoretical engagement, and ability to reinterpret classical and contemporary political thought in the context of rapidly changing global realities. His work reflects a keen observation of international politics, society, and culture, particularly the intersections between ideology, identity, and state power.

He has published research articles in several reputed national and international journals and has presented papers at international conferences and academic forums in Australia, Poland, Norway, Bangladesh, and other countries. His academic exposure also includes fieldwork and research visits to the United Kingdom and France, enriching his comparative and empirical perspective.

In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Prof. Singh has held extensive administrative and leadership responsibilities at the university level. These include serving as Head of the Department of Political Science, Sanskrit, and Public Administration; Dean, Ambedkar School for Social Sciences; Dean, School of Education; Dean, School of Languages & Literature; and Dean of Student Welfare (DSW). He has also functioned as Advisor and Ex-Coordinator, Department of Hindi, Hindi Officer, and Controller of Examinations, reflecting his wide-ranging institutional engagement.

Prof. Singh has been a Member of the Board of Management (Executive Council), Academic Council, and Planning Board, and has served as a Member of the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Committee, UGC, New Delhi. He is a nominated member of the Society of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Kolkata, appointed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for a five-year term.

He has also been associated with several universities and institutions across India as a member of School Boards, DRCs, and BPGS, including JNU, Kumaon University, Central University of Jharkhand, Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bundelkhand University, MG Kashi Vidyapeeth, Integral University, and Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Languages.

Earlier, Prof. Singh served in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) with the rank of Captain and worked as a field correspondent for Nav Bharat Times, New Delhi, experiences that further shaped his leadership and public engagement skills.

Prof Harish K. Thakur is the Chairman, Department of Defence & Strategic Studies and Director at the Centre for Canadian Studies, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla-171005. He is also a former Chairman of the Department of Political science, Himachal Pradesh University. Currently Professor Thakur is also the Editor of Himachal Pradesh University Journal. He has so far authored over 15 books and has immensely contributed articles to reputed national and international journals. His area of specialisation is foreign policy and tribal studies

I am Dr. Siddhartha Mukerji working as assistant professor at Department of Political Science, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow since November 2008. I have completed my undergrad from University of Delhi , and M.A, M.Phil and PhD in political science from JNU, New Delhi. I am a UGC/JRF/NET qualifier. I have published articles in UGC- Care listed, Scopus and Peer Reviewed Journals like Economic and Political Weekly; Indian Journal of Gender Studies: Sage Publications; Indian Journal of Public Administration: Sage Publications; Studies in Indian Politics: Sage Publications; IASSI Quarterly; Journal of Indian School of Political Economy; The Book Review Journal; GNLU Journal of Law, Development and Politics; Indian Journal of Politics; Political Discourse; Voice of Dalit; and Indian Journal of Political Science. I have written a book entitled India’s Software Industry: Politics, Institutions and Policy Shifts (2018) published by Atlantic Publishers, New Delhi. My International Projects include a project on “Real Estate Sector and Rural Migration: A Study of Lucknow” in collaboration between BBAU, Lucknow and Stockholm University, Sweden; and IndiaEurope EECURI (Explaining Electoral Change in Urban and Rural India) Project with London School of Economics and Political Science; Science Po (Paris); King’s Indian Institute, King’s College, London and Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) as key partners. I am recipient of Baden Wurttemberg Fellowship, South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg, Germany (21 November 2016- 31 January 2017). I have presented papers at King’s College, London; London School of Economics and Political Science; JNU, New Delhi; Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and BHU, Varanasi.
